your hair fell out at some point in time
and i lost all inspiration
to soothe the pain
to deliver the same never ending emotion on paper
to you or to a world filled with twilight realities
that even while they fascinate you
you'll never truly understand
and then like a bird strike
they took down my plane
filled with memories and nostalgia
but your retiring hair reminded me each day
of what life is like
living it with both feet planted firmly on the ground
no words could ever express the value
of what our silences meant to me
your bald head still telling me
how cruel life can be
when it wants
this is truly a reminder
of how words sometimes fail to deliver
even when they so desperately try to.
we miss you.
